Coins & the shop

Browse the guide

Add a second, spendable currency alongside XP and you have an economy. Coins come from the same chatting and talking that earns XP, plus a daily claim that grows the longer a member keeps their streak, an hourly top-up, and a small random handout on a short cooldown, each with its own limits. Coins can also land automatically every time someone levels up. Members spend them in the shop: up to twenty-five items, listed on a managed message in its own channel or opened privately with /economy shop. Members can check their balance, read a full history of where their coins went, and rank each other on a richest-members board, and you set whether those replies post publicly, clear themselves after a few seconds, or stay private, which each member can change for themselves. Members can do all of this from /packet home too: choose Features, then Economy to check a balance, claim a reward, send coins to another member where the server allows it, or open the shop.

What the shop sells. Each item gives one thing: a role (which can last a set time), a request to staff, which staff mark done or give back (/economy requests), something the member keeps to use later (/economy inventory), a title for their rank card, or a lootbox. A lootbox can't pay out more than it costs, on average. Requests, items and lootboxes are priced in your server's own currency. Nobody can buy a role they already hold.

Paying each other. Where you turn it on, members send each other coins with /economy pay.

The shared economy. A server can share one Coins 🪙 wallet with every other Packet server on the shared economy, so a member's coins follow them from server to server. Your server keeps its own levels, its own leaderboards and its own currency either way. On the shared economy Packet sets the coin rates, so a level-up bonus in Coins doesn't run there, and the starting balance, maximum balance and salary settings apply only to a server that keeps its economy to itself.

Use it when you want a reason to keep coming back beyond the leaderboard: something to save up for and actually spend.

A worked example. A shop selling ✨ VIP for 5,000 coins, 🎨 Name Color Unlock for 2,000, and a 📣 Shoutout for 500 gives members a ladder to climb toward instead of one big purchase. Because coins also come from the daily claim and the level-up bonus, a member who never touches the Arcade can still save up and buy in.
