Name a set of permissions once and reuse it everywhere. Build a preset, such as a
moderator set, a read-only set or a voice-only set, from the same
grouped, searchable permission picker you use on a role, give it a short description,
then drop it into any role's permissions or any channel's allow/deny list instead of
ticking the same twelve boxes again. Edit the preset later and every place that uses
it follows, so a permission you meant your whole staff to have never ends up
half-applied. (Configure → Permission presets.)
Press + Add preset, give it a Name and tick at least one permission. A name uses
letters, numbers, - and _, with no spaces, and no two presets share one. From then on
the preset is a choice under Permission presets on every role, channel and category. On
a channel or category it goes on the allow side, and you can switch it to deny. Rename a
preset and every place that uses it follows the new name. Remove one that is still in use
and each of those places says so, and the save waits until you pick another preset or take
the reference out. Discord never sees a preset: when you apply, Packet writes out the
permissions it stands for.
