Server goals

Browse the guide

Give the whole server something to save toward together, like "At 10,000 Gems, movie night". Members press Contribute on the goal's message and spend toward it, and Packet shows how far along it is and announces the moment it is reached. (Configure → Goals & quests.)

A goal is priced in a currency members can spend: Coins or your server's own. The coins go into the goal and to nobody, and what the server does once it is reached is up to you. If staff press Cancel goal before it is reached, or a deadline you set passes, everyone gets their coins back. A goal can repeat every week or every month, and reaching one can raise everyone's earn rate in your server for a while, in XP and your server's own currency, never Coins.

Quests. The same section holds your server's quests: things a member finishes for a reward, like "send 20 messages today" or "win 5 games this week". Press + Add a quest and pick what it Counts, How many, and when it Starts over: every day, every week, or Once per member, which never starts over. A member finishes a once-per-member quest one time, and it stays done. Members see their progress and claim rewards with /economy quests. A server can have up to 10.

A quest can count:

  • Chat and play: messages, minutes in voice, reactions, minutes in an activity, games played, games won, or different games played. Each game counts once in the quest's time.
  • Events: an event attended. A member counts after 10 minutes in the voice or stage channel of an event Packet runs, or the whole event if it is shorter. Events at a place don't count.
  • Welcoming: a newcomer welcomed. A reply to Packet's welcome post, or a message that mentions the newcomer, counts if it comes within 10 minutes. The greeter's welcome post must be on.
  • Getting started: setting a birthday, filling in a profile (a birthday and a time zone), picking a role from one of your role menus, or getting verified. Each is something a member does once, so only a once-per-member quest can ask for it.
  • A step on the Packet website.

Chat, voice and reaction goals count only what Packet already counts for earning, so spam can't rush them.

A quest can give an amount of XP or a currency, a role, and a badge, which shows on the member's rank card, on /profile and beside their name on your server's leaderboards. It can also give:

  • A role for a set time. Say how many minutes it lasts. Packet takes it off when the time ends. Claiming again moves the end out, never sooner. Leave it at 0 to keep the role for good.
  • A title from your shop. Each member gets it once. Add the title to the shop first.
  • Lottery tickets, up to 10. They join the lottery's current draw, free. A quest that gives only tickets needs your lottery on. Servers on the shared economy can't give them.
  • A giveaway entry pass, up to 10 extra entries. The next giveaway the member enters in your server uses the pass and counts the extra entries.

A games quest can give anything another quest can. A currency reward for winning lets play pay out more than it takes in, so set the amount with that in mind. On the shared economy a quest's Coins aren't paid, and everything else it gives still is, except lottery tickets.
