Moderate your server from /mod in Discord: warn, mute (timeout), kick, and
ban members. Each one is recorded as a numbered case with its reason, and /mod history
shows a member's whole record. Set up an escalation ladder so Packet auto-mutes, kicks,
or bans once a member accumulates enough strikes. Discord's own actions (a manual ban, an
AutoMod timeout) can feed the same record, so repeat offenders escalate even when no staff
are online. In Configure, choose the mod-log channel, which staff roles are exempt, whether
the member gets a DM, and the escalation thresholds. (Configure → Moderation; the actions
themselves are /mod commands in Discord.) Staff can also press them: open /packet home,
choose Features, then Moderation, and pick the member in the form.
How the ladder counts. A warn counts as the number of strikes your server sets, unless
staff give it a weight of its own, from 1 to 5. Each rung of the ladder fires once, the first time a member reaches it. Use
/mod pardon on a case and its strikes stop counting. Packet's own
automatic protections never add a strike.
More tools. /mod note saves a private note as a case. /mod isolate shuts a member
out of every channel until you /mod release them, or for a set time. /mod purge
clears recent messages, by member, role or age. /mod slowmode sets a channel's
slow-mode. /mod lock stops members posting in one channel, and /mod freeze does it
in every channel at once, for an emergency. When a lock or a freeze ends, every channel
goes back as it was, and a permission someone changed by hand during it is kept.
Right-click. Staff can also right-click a member, choose Apps, and pick
Moderate member (a private panel with Warn, Timeout, Remove timeout and History),
Warn, Add note or View cases. Each does what the matching /mod command
does, with the same permission checks.
Report to staff. Any member can right-click a message, choose Apps, then Report to staff. Packet sends your moderators one note in the mod-log channel, naming who reported, the author, the channel and the reason, with a link to the message. Tick Member reports with action buttons and reports go to a staff channel you pick instead, as a card with a short part of the message and buttons to warn, time out, delete the message, open a case or dismiss. Members can then report a member too, from their right-click menu. It is off by default.
